Travel Fitness Log: Workout #6 (Bangkok)

This workout feels like a very long time ago! I’ve had it saved on my phone for a good couple of weeks now but wifi issues, and generally being busy travelling around has meant that it joined the backlog of workouts to be uploaded.

The ‘gym’ that we had in our Bangkok apartment complex didn’t have a vast amount of equipment, but neither Tom or I really minded. With stunning views of the Bangkok skyline from the 53rd floor, we were perfectly content with the yoga mats, Swiss balls and TRX provided. It was more than enough to start our couple of days in the city with a satisfying workout. (more…)

A Postcard from Bangkok

After a week by the beach and in little mountain villages, Bangkok was a bit of a culture shock. The hustle and bustle, the skyscrapers and the high tech public transport was far away from the tuk-tuk filled roads of Sri Lanka. Even the fact we were able to get an uber from Bangkok airport made the city feel ultra modern. Plus the fact that there was free wifi everywhere.

We were welcomed into the city with the most torrential rainstorm I have ever experienced. Unable to check in to our apartment until 2pm, we had gone to the nearby Terminal 21 shopping centre to have a look around and find some coffee. It was on the walk back that the heavens opened on us. (more…)

Travel Fitness Log: Workout #4 & #5 (Sri Lanka)

I’ve put workouts 4 & 5 in the same post for a couple of reasons. First of all, they both took place quite a while ago. We’re flying from Chiang Mai to Laos tomorrow, 4th country on our to-do list. Given that I’ve got a backlog of workouts to upload from Sri Lanka and Thailand, I kinda want to get these published!

Secondly, as far as workouts go, 4 and 5 are complete opposites. I thought it might be interesting to put them together so that you’re able to see the range and diversity of workouts you can do, even whilst backpacking and far away from your home gym. (more…)
